This is a pair of the Shep
single Class A Fully discrete Limiter Compressors, packaged into a 2 U high
package and complete with a Mains power supply. It has a de-ess switch with
two settings. It can be used as two single channel compressors or linked
using the Stereo linking Toggle switch to control a Stereo signal.
The power supply is switch selectable for use on 220/240 or 120 volts

A by-pass relay connects the I/P and O/P XLR's together in the case of
a power failure or when the unit is switched off.
It is suitable for Sound Broadcasting and Recording Studios.
It has characteristics which are very similar to the Neve 2254 Compressor

Limit Recovery, switchable 100 mS, 200 mS, 800 mS, Auto (In the Auto
position the recovery time varies according to the rate of Variation of
the levels of the incoming programme )
Toggle switch for Fast and Slow attack times. 100 uS / 1 mS
Compression Threshold, switched in 3 dB steps, -21 dB to + 12 dB
Compressor Recovery Time, switchable 400 mS, 800 mS, 1.5 secs, Auto (Auto
= 50 mS / 5 secs.)
Compression Ratio, switchable 1.5, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, 6.1
Gain Makeup, 0 dB to 20 dB of extra gain when Compress is selected.(continuously
variable)
